Looking Forward to the Holidays

Many parents tell me they don’t look forward to the holidays.

The extended break at home with kids can feel more stressful than going to a paying job.

I’m sure you can rattle off a few of your kids’ behaviors that push your buttons.

My point today isn’t about how to calm or shift your kid, but how to calm and shift yourself.

When you positively disrupt your own stress chemistry and get grounded into the present moment, it’s like turning on a YouTube Mindfulness Video for kids.

Your kids get to watch a real-life demo of “how to be calm” … in a stressful moment … by their favorite adult.

Listen to Sarah, mother of 2, who developed the skill of calming her own fight or flight response, and can now better support her daughter and enjoy time together. [runtime 1 minute]

If you want to learn a simple stress disruption routine for parents, join my upcoming webinar: Best Tips to Smoothly Navigate the Holiday Hoopla.

P.S. I hold strong family values of simplicity + connection.  Whenever it pops into mind to slow down, I practice letting go of hurry and expectation.  I love sinking to the floor to be in my child’s world for a bit.
