Modern, intentional parents have good intentions.
You may be giving and doing everything you can think of to raise a happy, well-adjusted child. But some children have inner turmoil and stress that cause you to look for mental health support.
Child therapists of all types can be a wonderful resource, but lately the demand is so high that it’s hard to get in.
It is my mission to help as many parents as possible learn that in situations like this, there are simple parenting strategies you can use to calm your child’s inner turmoil.
Does it require you to learn a few things about your child’s brain – and parent differently to support their progress? Yes, and the results are totally worth it.
Carissa is one of those parents. She is raising three boys (ages 5 to 15) and her middle son had challenges from an early age.
As a teenager, he began isolating and showing signs of depression that would turn into explosions. When she reached out for parenting support, she expressed wishes for him to:
- Go to school daily (without a fight… even better!)
- Participate in activities that bring joy
- Follow house rules and expectations
- Seek positive connection with mom
Carissa learned the 8 Pillars of Parenting from the Mad to Glad Blueprint™️ and things started to change. She learned tools and followed an action plan that helped her connect differently with her son. They rebuilt their relationship and he started opening about the things that were stressing him out.
As a result, Carissa and her son feel different. There is less emotional stress all-around, and they feel like a connected family.
