Tomorrow’s Halloween, which means two things in my world:
- The glitter paint will mysteriously find its way into my underwear again.
- My 5-year-old kung-fu fighter will need just the right amount of dramatic face stripes to feel “official.”
And before I switch fully into face-painting mom mode, I wanted to share something important — especially if your home has felt anything but calm lately.
The Tension Before the Holidays
This time of year can stir up big emotions — for kids and parents alike. The change in routines, excitement of upcoming holidays, and early darkness can easily lead to more meltdowns, power struggles, and moments when you wonder, “Why does everything feel so intense right now?”
Here’s what I’ve learned from hundreds of families: these challenging moments aren’t a reflection of you failing as a parent. They’re signals that something deeper needs attention — like connection, safety, or emotional regulation.
When we help kids (and ourselves) understand and calm those big feelings, peace returns faster than we think.
What Calmer Evenings Really Look Like
It’s not about perfection. It’s about creating more moments where your home feels like a safe, connected space again.
That might look like:
- Mornings that start with cooperation instead of chaos.
- Evenings that include laughter instead of yelling.
- Bedtime routines that actually end with sleep.
These are the shifts that ripple out — not just through your home, but into every part of life.
Why Now Matters
The truth is, if things already feel a bit hard before the holidays, they’ll only get more complicated once schedules fill up and sugar sneaks in.
That’s why I opened registration for the Mad to Glad fall cohort this month — before even more chaos and escalations ramp up.
This program helps you understand your child’s brain, learn calm communication tools, and bring more peace into your home (for real). And if you’ve been on the fence about joining, registration closes Friday at 4 p.m. CT — right before I hang up my coaching hat and grab the face paint.
A Gentle Invitation
If you’re wondering what it might take to make your home calmer before the holidays, I’d love to help you explore that.
You can grab a free spot for a How to Make It Better call — a short, no-pressure conversation where we talk about what’s been happening, what’s keeping you stuck, and what a path toward real calm could look like for your family.

Warmly,

P.S. Last year’s Halloween theme was “space.” Let’s just say… we all learned the limits of my face paint ability.
P.P.S. If you’re a Mad to Glad alum or professional, you can still join the fall cohort for 50% off — just email us for your coupon code before 4 p.m. CT → Hello@SamanthaMoe.com
