We had a great morning routine for months.
I would get up early, do my Ayurveda self-care habits (aka: tongue scraping, lymph brushing and water drinking) then leave our condo to exercise.
My husband Tye would do his thing until Mason woke up and then get him out of bed and start breakfast. Until….
I feel like that’s the story of parenting 😝
I was calm until…
I could handle it until…
Things were working until…
For us, things were great until…the morning routine just stopped working for unknown reasons. Mason would cry for 10-15 minutes and refuse to be picked up by Tye. Even though they have a warm, loving relationship. Even though Mason had to pee really badly.
For weeks, I’d return from exercising and think, “This is not a good way to start the day, for anyone!”
We didn’t know what else to do so we just stayed calm and carried on. Until…
Until I taught one of my parenting tools in a recent class and I realized Mason is old enough to role-play/practice a NEW and better morning plan. So we did that, and were delighted by the result. (I’m sure Mason was too!)
You can watch the actual role-play with scripts, and real-time results, on my personal Instagram account here. [Runtime ~ 90-seconds]

I would love to hear what you’re celebrating in your family. Feel free to share a “win” as a comment in the post or reply to this email. I read everything that comes through!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Warmly,
Samantha
